This is a really good hostel and I enjoyed my stay. I love the privacy of the curtains on the bed and the fact that you get your own light and charging point. I met some nice people in my room and in the kitchen. There was never a wait for toilets or showers, the place was really clean and the staff were lovely.

Slightly unfriendly vibe from some of the staff. I felt a bit uncomfortabe and found it hard to communicate even though I speak some Spanish and haven't had problems anywhere else. When I tried to extend my stay for 2 nights I was told I had to wait til the next day, I think because the lady didn't know what bookings they had because it was Sunday? Anyway, I chose to go to a different hostel when I returned from Colca Canyon. The private room, wifi and breakfast were all good though.

Nice and friendly family owners who are very enthusiastic about all the things to do in the town. It's a shame most people only spend one night here on the way to Machu Picchu as I enjoyed an extra day to hike around. Beds were comfy, wifi pretty good, breakfast standard, shower hot. I'd go back there.

The positives: - Pretty good breakfast - Heater in the room - Nice location and quiet at night - Big lockers - Extra toilet in case ensuite is occupied The negatives: - My room smelled damp - The bed was horribly squeaky when the person in the top bunk moved (just seemed to be my bunk and not the other in the room though) - Not a great atmosphere

Enjoyed the lack of bunk beds and the bed was really comfy but the room was freezing until someone asked for a heater. One staff member was really helpful when it looked like my tour pickup wasn't coming - he phoned around for me which was really helpful. Wifi was good until they changed the router half way through my stay - hope they realise and change it back. Pretty good facilities and location.

This was one of the cheapest hostels in Amsterdam and I was definitely happy to choose it - overall it was a good experience. The room (in the building next door) was spacious and comfortable, there's not a lot of privacy when getting in and out of the shower though (due to shared sink area and outlook into the room) but it seemed to work anyway. Good facilities in room - fridge/freezer, microwave, dishes, lockers etc and towel was included. Helpful staff. Would recommend if on a budget.

A great hostel if you're on a budget. As it says on the description it's quiet - what that means is that people in the rooms are often out (it's Berlin afterall) and sometimes there's no one in the common room, so if you're looking for a busy sociable hostel it's not for you. Having said that, I did meet some lovely people as you will always bump into people in the kitchen (great facilities!) or the common room at some point, and you can get sleep too! Lovely staff, great location, really good!

I felt a little old here (at 28!) but it has its pluses; excellent buffet breakfast (included in price) and a clean pool. You can hire a bicycle from outside the hotel for less than a dollar a day and if you extend for another day it means you can use it that night too - town is a few minutes away by bicycle. The beach in the other direction is about a 10 minute cycle and you can park the bike in a monitored shed for about 25cents. People here like to party so you'll like it if that's your thing

Great atmosphere, nice rooms, enjoyed the bike tour! The only downside was the wifi which wasn't too bad in the day but useless at night. The info on hostelworld makes it sound easy to find others for a Tibet tour but I gave up. If you want to book a tour it's better to contact them in advance so they can find others. The permit takes 3 -5 days if you enter by train (much longer for plane) and train tickets sell out because of ticket touts. All this makes it hard to be spontaneous.

I stayed here a couple of times because it had a bar area to chill out in, a good atmosphere and it was close to the airport link. Downsides would be that you can't eat your own food in any communal areas or outside, and the wifi isn't great - a bit slow in the day and useless at night. The bedrooms could do with a more frequent clean too - I was there for 6 nights and the floor didn't appear to have been swept at all judging by the mass of hair and dust.

The reception area is chaotic but it serves as a decent enough base for a tour and it's close to a big mall/supermarket and lots of other shops which is handy. There were some problems with our guide and our complaint was initially handled very well until the guide became angry and came to my room to harass me over the complaint - the staff just let it happen. Very unprofessional. They are so busy they're in danger of letting standards slip. The rest of the tour was good though.

This was a bit of a splurge for me, an expense I felt was worth it for a well needed break by the sea. This place is beautiful and relaxing, and the food (included in the price) is delicious and plentiful - you won't go hungry! The staff are lovely and the beach is clean and deserted. There's an added bonus of being able to go out for a paddle in a kayak, or the use of wifi in the restaurant/bar area. All in all a great and memorable stay.

The positives: Great location, good price, not too noisy despite rooms of 28. The negatives: The slippers stink and need a good clean, it's cheeky asking people to pay 100Yen for a shower (if you want a timer then you could provide tokens), and more sockets in the rooms would be useful (e.g. extension leads with multiple sockets nearer to the beds).

I really enjoyed my time here, and the lady is so friendly and nice. The optional breakfast was delicious and I recommend giving it a try. The location is really superb - 10 minute walk from the station, right near the wharf, and 5 - 10 mins walk to the cable car. It's also right by a tram stop that can take you around or slightly out of town. The room was comfortable and spacious, there's free wifi and tea/coffee facilities so you can really feel at home.

I had a great time here. The bed was very comfortable with a curtain for privacy, the staff were lovely and the showers were really nice and clean. The view of Mt Fuji on a clear day is incredible to wake up to and the location is really handy - 3 train stops to Kawaguchico for the lakes and perfectly placed for climbing Fuji in peak season.

This was a great place and I'd definitely stay again. Everything was really clean and new and the showers/bath were spotless and private. The beds were private too with a nice thick curtain, and they had a double socket for charging which was excellent. The staff were friendly and helpful and a pleasure to be around when I sat in the common room. An improvement would be to have a dryer - I badly needed to wash my clothes but without a dryer there wasn't enough time. Thanks!

This hostel is really hard to find - a sign in English would have been useful. It was a bit cold at night going out to the toilet/shower/sink and the bed was a little on the hard side (both characteristics of a traditional Japanese place though) but the room was ok and it was great to have a big shelf, bed light and electric socket each.

Great guesthouse with a very sweet lady on reception. The 4-bed dorm was quiet and private with a curtain that blocked out light well if someone else turned on the main one. Each bed had a reading light and shelf and the bed was really comfortable and sturdy. The shower/bath rooms etc were spotlessly clean and the kitchen/diner area was a nice place to sit, though this isn't the place for you if you want something uber sociable as it's just a nice quiet place to relax.

This hostel is perfect for visiting Miyajima and has a great sociable vibe. I was there for the barbeque night and met some fantastic people, ate great food and drank and chatted into the night. For the money this is excellent as it's very close to the Namba area and you get your own private room. It was a bit cold though (in March), and the room lacked character, but it was a great base to explore Osaka. The showers were clean and the common room/kitchen area was a nice warm place to sit and chat to people.

Very bad. Double-booked us and sent us elsewhere without explaining exactly where or what facilities would be at the other place. Should have let us know beforehand - this is basic service level. We booked the Capital Inn having well researched the area and facilities and we wanted a sociable hostel. What we got was a very quiet place out of town that was mostly residential. I felt very uncomfortable paying up front before we knew where we were going.
