YHA Patterdale

YHA Patterdale has recently been given a bright, retro makeover to match the unique 1970s building, with original artwork throughout. This fantastic, friendly YHA is situated in the stunning scenery just south of Ullswater, perfect for exploring the surrounding ridges and fells. The energetic will want to scale Helvellyn or try mountain biking and rock climbing. Those after a relaxing break can chill out on the Ullswater steamers, and there is a sports massage clinic on site. In the evening, there's always a chance you will catch an impromptu music session in full swing.

Housing 84 hostel beds in 14 rooms, we can cater for every adventurer. There are dorm beds and private rooms available at YHA Patterdale, not to mention a comfortable and spacious living and dining area to relax in. On-site facilities include a cycle store, free parking, laundry facilities and free wifi in social spaces.

YHA Patterdale is a great place for a party and Irish Ceilidhs, Salsa weekends, and special meals can all be organised for you. Plenty of toys, games and DVDs are available to keep children entertained and there are pubs in the village and more cafes and restaurants in nearby Glenridding. The hostel is great for families, groups and individuals to explore the surrounding countryside.

Cancellation policy: 24h before arrival.
In case of a late cancellation or No Show, you will be charged the first night of your stay.

Check in from 15:00 to 23:00 .
Check out before 10:00 .

Please note the hostel might pre-authorise your card before arrival.

The maximum period of stay is 14 days. Following any stay of 14 nights, guests may not stay in any YHA accommodation for at least seven nights.

YHA cannot accept bookings for 16 people or more. Any such bookings will be cancelled by YHA.
The ID must match the name and address on the booking. Where a booking is for more than one person, the named person on the booking will need to provide proof of identify that matches the name and address on the booking. ID will also be requested from all other adult guests. These IDs must match the name they sign in with at check in.

Please note, we do not charge an additional temporary membership fee. Discounts are not available for members of YHA (England and Wales) or Hostelling International as part of this booking.
Towels are not included in the room rate. Guests can hire them at the property or bring their own.
