Welcome to Berat Backpackers, the first backpacker hostel to open in Berat and the second in the whole of Albania!. This 300 year old house is a UNESCO protected building with traditional features set in an amazing location, in the historic Gorica quarter of Berat.
With 4 beautifully decorated double rooms, 3 dorms and a family room, we're sure to be able to cater to your needs. All of our guests can enjoy a free breakfast each morning, including traditional Albanian Pastry's.
Come and relax and enjoy the unique atmosphere of this wonderfully preserved house and chill out under the fruit trees on on of our 5 garden terraces.

Bad: Some of my group got bedbugs but realised after checkout. I asked some other friends who stayed here in the days prior, they had the same issue and made the staff aware, so they're still taking bookings w/o deep cleaning. They don't wash the blankets/quilts between guests or offer duvet covers. Breakfast was nice but there was 20-30 wasps covering the fruit and jam.
Good: Staff are friendly & the tours offered are fun. Location's great & building has a lot of character, showers & WCs clean.

The location is great and the staff are really friendly! However the breakfast was covered in wasps which wasn’t great, and I’m pretty sure I got bed bugs on my last night after I moved beds. They don’t wash the sheets or blankets between guests which isn’t ideal.

Hostel in a historic house in Old Town. Nice simple breakfast included.
