Backpackers Hostel K’s House Kyoto is located less than 10 minutes’ walk from JR Kyoto station and is about 20 minutes’ walk to the Gion District. We are located in central Kyoto, only nine minutes’ walk from JR Kyoto Station. Our aim is to provide a clean, cozy and friendly inexpensive stay in Kyoto for all you global travellers.
We’ll do our best to make your stay in Kyoto as comfortable and memorable as possible. We wish to offer travellers an opportunity to meet other travellers in a cosy environment, allowing them to exchange cultural experiences and make new friends.
We offer a variety of rooms for an affordable price and comfortable stay in Kyoto. All rooms are equipped with air conditioning. All of our twin rooms have bunk beds.
*From October 1st 2018, Kyoto city will begin to impose TAX of 200JPY/person/night.
This TAX will be added to the price of your room charge upon arrival.
Our individual shower rooms are available 24hrs a day.
We have a spacious communal tatami lounge with free Wi-Fi; there’s also a fully equipped guest kitchen, a communal TV room , a terrace with picnic facilities and a rooftop terrace with great views over Kyoto.
Facilities include English newspapers, a tourism information board, free coffee and tea, bicycle rental (800yen/day) and laundry facilities (500yen/wash and dry).
Guests can also borrow the iron, ironing board, foreign adaptors, guide books, padlocks!
Our friendly English speaking staff will be keen to help you with any tourist information you need.
Our hostel is located near Kyoto station and within reach of the Higashiyama area (Kiyomizu-temple, Gion district, etc) and downtown. Within walking distance of here you'll find restaurants, convenience stores and ATMs.

The room has a locker for the suitcase under the bed, which is nice. The staff was really friendly. I was a bit unlucky that the next door cafe was closed during my stay so I was not able to get their breakfast.

Neat and clean hostel with a great crew. Immediate and precise answers to any question we asked. All fluent in english. Absolutely recommended!

In case you missed it like I did: this hostel has NO CURTAINS in the dorms which was the biggest turn off. Everything else was good enough: small bathrooms, comfortable common room… but I really wouldn’t stay there again unless I had to just because of the missing curtains.

I think what makes us special is that we really try to provide a quality experience for our guests. We have tons of items available to rent for free from reception, including iPhone chargers, padlocks, guidebooks, adaptors, DVDs and games (cards, Uno, board games, etc).
I hear from our guests a lot about what they like about our hostel, and it's our clean rooms with self-locking doors, the friendly staff and the cross-cultural experience of meeting other guests in the spacious common lounge.
Our hostel is suitable for all types of travellers, from solo travellers to families to groups.
