Hostel New York is a youth hostel (not a hotel) located in Barcelona's Gothic Quarter, 5 minutes' walk from Las Ramblas. is ideally located for visiting many of Barcelons sights by foot. Ciutadella Park is a 10-minute walk, and Barceloneta Beach in 15 minuts walk. And 500 metres from Jaume I and Drassanes Metro Stations
24-hour reception and free Wi-Fi.
Economic room with 2 beds, have bunk beds
The hostel's simple rooms feature modest decor, bunk beds and individual lockers.
All rooms share bathroom with guests from same floor.
There is a kitchen for guest use (in the evenings) and a TV lounge with vending machines selling drinks and snacks.
There is also 1 computer. And lift to access floors.
The ferry port Bus is 10 minute walk from the hostel and bus to the airport from Plaza Catalunya Square 15 minutes' walk.
The kitchen can also be used to make dinner from 11am to 10pm.
We are open 24H and have not curfew or lockout periods. Checkout is at a convenient time of 11am

I chose this place for its location and price for a private room. I worried about noise but my room was completely quiet. There was a fan and a heater in the room but the fan was filthy so I'm glad I didn't need to use it! Toilets and showers were fine. I would stay again.

The room door doesn't lock automatically when you close it. In principle, unless you turn the key, it's always open. Beds don't have a curtain for privacy. There were only one toilet and two showers for women on one floor. Definitely too few. I paid the same money for another hostel in a similar good position and that one was definitely worthy the money. This one not. I should have had to pay less.

I don't recommend this hostel. The building is old, lift makes worrying noises, doors to dorms don't lock, unbearably hot with only a fan (caked with dust) to cool the room, showers run for 15 seconds at a time, wobbly ladder with no guard rail for bunk bed. Only book if you're after a cheap place to crash in the old town and the heat doesn't bother you.
