We know the best places to have a good time (outside the hostel) and are as concerned about somewhere clean to sleep as much as you are!
The hostel is within 5 minutes of most St Kilda hotspots including the beach. Nearby trams can take you to the heart of the CBD in around 20 minutes.
Barkly Backpackers has a mix of mixed dorm and female only rooms, and one private (double) room. All rooms offer loads of natural light as well as space to move.
In our common room you can sit comfortably and relax, use one of our (limited number of) computers, cook and enjoy free WiFi and tea & coffee.
Our reception is open late and you'll have access to the building at all times.

Cannot recommend this hostel enough!! Have stayed here in the past as a long term stay and it honestly is the most family like hostel ever! The staff and other guests are kind and friendly as well as the rooms kept tidy and spacious, will always recommend to stay here for anyone new to Melbourne or anyone looking to stay in a hostel long term that isn’t so full on all the time!! There’s always someone to go out with or to chill and watch a film and cook with, the rooftop is perfect for summer bbqs and makin

Cozy place to stay. More likely a b&b instead of a hostel.

The kitchen was a bit messy. There are only three bathrooms for one floor, which can be more. The staff is nice though. It’s like we move into somebody‘s home, but we cannot blend in.
