*About Onsen Ryokan Tax (¥150 per person per night): Hakonetent is an accommodation with onsen. You have to pay Onsen Ryokan Tax when you stay in an accommodation with Onsen in Hakone. We will charge you when you check in.
Opened in Jun-2014, Hakone Tent is a cozy guesthouse inn with hot spring (Onsen). We offer free Wi-Fi and a natural hot spring bath.
All guest rooms are simple. Decorated and equipped with heating facilities. There are shared bathrooms and toilets. Towels can be rented at charge.
You can have a drink at the bar, soak in the hot spring bath or use the shared kitchen to prepare your meals. Lockers, safety deposit boxes and a luggage storage service are also available at Hakone Tent.
Our hostel is located a 40-minute train ride from Hakone-Yumoto Station on Odakyu Line.
25-minute drive from Lake Ashi (Ashinoko). The Hakone Open Air Museum can be accessed only in 6min drive.
Hakone Tent is located only 2min walk from Gora Station on Hakone Tozan Line.

Nice place to check out Hakone, closer to everything at the end of the train line up. 10% discount in cafe beside. I met a few other solo travelers in the evening and the 24hour Onsen!
Top tip: Everyone goes to the bar at 18:00 for pizza so show up before to get a seat or wait until after 19:30 when it quietens down a bit.

One of my favorite hostels in Japan! The staff is amazing and the atmosphere is great!

Lovely stay! Staff is super nice, there’s an incredible onsen for FREE (I didn’t know this when I booked it and was happily surprised), the food is great and my room was clean with tatami. The only two things are:
1. The outside light flickers at night and lights of the girls dorm room, which is annoying. Just close the curtain. Easy fix.
2. It’s a little far away from anything, but it’s perfect for exploring the area via bus, and it’s right next to the Hakone Ropeway! 9/10 stars!!!
